Why Faces for Life

Puget Sound Blood Center impacts the lives of countless people throughout the Northwest by maintaining a safe and stable blood supply, providing the highest quality tissue and bone for transplant, and improving patient care through medical expertise and innovative research. Volunteers and donors are instrumental in making this possible. We honor these selfless individuals with Faces for Life.

A public exhibit and auction held to benefit the Blood Center, Faces for Life brings together the vibrant artistic energies of celebrities, civic leaders, artists, patients, volunteers and others in support of the Blood Center's life saving work. In much the same way that volunteers and donors come together for those in need of life-saving blood and medical attention, artists bring together color, text and material to a blank mask in order to create art.

Among past Faces participants are Muhammad Ali, Garth Brooks, Gwyneth Paltrow, Phil Condit, Jamie Moyer, Gary Payton, Matt Hasselbeck, Dale Chihuly and Sylvester Stallone.

On Saturday, March 15, 2008, following a 3-week exhibit of the completed masks and artwork at Bellevue Square, the Faces for Life™ Gala Auction will take place at the Grand Hyatt Seattle.

On this Web site you will find information about the events surrounding Faces for Life and have the opportunity to view the masks up for auction this year.

Please become involved in Faces for Life. By doing so, you support the life-saving efforts of Puget Sound Blood Center and the many donors and volunteers we honor through Faces for Life.
