Faces for Life™ honors the hundreds of thousands of faceless, unnoticed and unrecognized volunteers in our community who give their time, energy and even their blood. Whether they are candy stripers at the hospital, little league coaches or bone marrow donors, volunteers are the faces behind the gift of life. Hundreds of artists and celebrities have created “faces” that represented the participant’s interpretation of the face behind the gift of life.
This year to highlight the 65th year of our work at the Blood Center, we are collecting stories of people whose lives have been touched by our work. We plan to have 65 photos and stories of people who have benefited from giving or receiving blood, tissue, or patient care at the Blood Center. Then we are asking artists to interpret that story in a work of art. That work of art along with the photo and story will be on display at Bellevue Square for a month and then auctioned off at the Faces for Life Gala on March 6th. |
